CelebPoker’s sponsored players for the forthcoming EPT San Remo were decided last night after a gruelling six-hour final.

Swiss poker pro ‘Magic’ Marc Friedmann, German Matthias Kreidler and newcomer Emiliyan Yosifov Petrov, ‘The Bulgarian Prince’, claimed the top spots. They will be jetting off this weekend to compete in the San Remo main event, with sponsored packages worth over €6,500 each.

It was quite some achievement. Not only did these three have to fend off eight other players in what proved to be a tense and thrilling final, but they also emerged victorious from thousands of internet poker players from all over the world who took part in the promotion.

The EPT San Remo package was part of Series 1 of the increasingly popular Team CelebPoker promotion. If the number of entrants is anything to go by, live poker is certainly alive and kicking. Series 2, which starts today, will see competitors battling it out for sponsored packages to the Poker Seefeld Masters in Austria.

Commenting on his victory, seasoned online poker pro ‘Magic’ Marc Friedmann said: “Victory tasted sweet. I’ve represented Team CelebPoker at many of the European Poker Tour main events but San Remo is particularly special. It’s such a beautiful place,” said Mark. “Will I win it? Maybe. I’ll certainly be looking at a final table spot. So look out.”

Having established themselves as the crème de la crème of online poker all eyes will be watching to see how Team CelebPoker performs on the live circuit.
Will the cream rise to the top? Only time will tell.
